Space Coast Golf Courses & Tee Times
Golf on the Space Coast goes back further than the rockets. Rockledge had a nine-hole course with sand greens by 1911, and in Melbourne a club hired Donald Ross in 1925 to lay out 18 holes that opened in December 1928. President Warren G. Harding skipped a luncheon to play the earlier Melbourne course in 1923. That Ross course is now Crane Creek Reserve, a par-71 city course downtown, and Rockledge Country Club is the old Poinsett course the city ran in the 1930s. Both are on the Florida Historic Golf Trail. South of Brevard, Indian River County runs 36 holes at Sandridge in Vero Beach.
Good weekend tee times in Space Coast go fast, and the ones that come back later (cancellations, groups that shrink) aren't announced. Yoink watches the tee sheets at 18 public courses here, from Melbourne, Viera, Vero Beach, Melbourne Beach and Cocoa Beach, and tells you the moment a time you want opens up.
The longest layout here is Halifax Plantation Golf Club at 7,101 yards; there are 2 executive or par-3 courses for a quicker round.
Who runs public golf in Space Coast
The City of Melbourne runs two courses, Crane Creek Reserve on West New Haven Avenue and Harbor City on Lake Washington Road (the former Mallards Landing, which also has an 18-hole FootGolf course). Melbourne sells annual passes rather than a resident card: a Premier Pass covering green and cart fees and a Single Pass covering green fees, both with advance tee time booking. Cocoa Beach owns and runs the Cocoa Beach Country Club on the Banana River. Indian River County owns and operates Sandridge Golf Club, with the Dunes Course (1987) and the Lakes Course (1992). Its ID card costs $70 for county residents and $95 for other Florida residents for 2026-27, with proof of residency.

- Rockledge Country Club - FL: Opened as the Poinsett Golf and Country Club in 1925 and taken over by the city in the early 1930s. Federal relief labor built the second nine, and the full 18 opened in January 1936. On the Florida Historic Golf Trail.

Booking tee times in Space Coast: the local rules
At Sandridge the public can book 4 days ahead, Florida Card holders 6 days and Indian River County card holders 8 days, with the sheet opening at 6:00 am (2026 site). Winter is the busy season there: rates for December 26, 2026 through April 30, 2027 are the year's highest. Melbourne's two courses book online, and its annual pass holders get advance booking; the city page doesn't say how many days.

Why tee times in Space Coast are hard to get
Space Coast is a winter golf destination. The months other places shut down are the busiest here, so November-through-April mornings go first, weekdays included.
Each course releases its tee times on its own schedule, commonly a week or two out, with residents of town and county courses often booking first. Leagues, outings and members claim chunks of the sheet in advance, and whatever prime weekend times are left tend to go on release day.
When tee time cancellations happen
Booked-up doesn't mean gone. Plans change: groups cancel ahead of the course's cancellation deadline (often 24 to 48 hours out), players drop when the forecast turns, and a group that shrinks leaves an open spot. Those times quietly come back on the booking page, usually for minutes, not hours.

Every course in Space Coast on one watchlist: all 18 of them
Yoink watches all 18 courses in Space Coast for you. The open tee times sit in one place instead of a dozen booking pages, and your phone buzzes the moment one fits your day, time window and group, cancellations included.
Doing it by hand? Here's what works.
- Know the booking window. Find out how many days ahead each course releases times, and whether residents get an earlier window. Be ready the morning it opens.
- Look again 24 to 48 hours out. That's when most cancellation deadlines pass and spots come back.
- Be flexible on group size. Singles and twosomes fit into gaps a foursome can't.
- Try twilight and weekday afternoons. They're the last to fill and often cheaper.
- Keep a quicker course in your back pocket. Nine-hole and executive courses are easier to get on and play faster. Around here that includes Barefoot Bay Golf Course and Vista Plantation Golf Club.

Tee times in Space Coast: questions
How do I get notified when a tee time opens up in Space Coast?
Set a watch in Yoink for the courses you want, the days you can play, a time window and the number of players. Yoink checks those tee sheets every few minutes and sends a notification as soon as a matching time appears, cancellations included. You book it directly with the course.
When do tee time cancellations usually show up?
Mostly in the 24 to 48 hours before the tee time, as golfers cancel ahead of the course's cancellation deadline, and whenever the weather forecast changes. They appear without notice and tend to be rebooked quickly.
How far in advance can you book a tee time in Space Coast?
It depends on the course. Many public courses open bookings 7 to 14 days ahead, and town or county courses often give residents an earlier window. Each course's own booking page has its policy.
When is golf busiest in Space Coast?
Demand is highest from roughly November through April. Weekend mornings are always the hardest tee times to get.
Which courses in Space Coast are quickest to play?
Nine-hole and executive courses such as Barefoot Bay Golf Course and Vista Plantation Golf Club take less time and are usually easier to book.
Does Yoink book the tee time for me?
No. Yoink tells you when a time opens; you book it with the course on its own booking page, at the course's price, with no extra fee.
