About Sandridge Golf Club - Dunes Course
The Dunes is the older of Indian River County's two Ron Garl courses at Sandridge, opened in April 1987. It winds along the ancient sand ridge that runs down Florida's east coast, ground that was once used for mining, and the club describes the terrain as rolling. There are six sets of tees on every hole, from Gold down to Orange, so you can make it as long or as short as you like.
Don't let the name fool you into thinking it's dry. On the map, water is in play on 13 of the 18 holes and you carry it on 5, 10 holes bend, and there are about 38 bunkers. Course character from OpenStreetMap contributors' survey data.
The county owns and runs Sandridge. The pace target for a foursome is about 4 hours 11 minutes, and carts carry TagMarshal GPS so rangers can see who's behind. The facility has an expanded range and practice area, lessons, a full golf shop and food and drink. The Lakes Course next door, with its island-green 14th, opened in 1992.
It's one of 18 courses Yoink watches in the Space Coast area, and the closest alternative is Sandridge Golf Club - Lakes Course, about 2 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
