Los Angeles & Orange County Golf Courses & Tee Times
Los Angeles golf is municipal golf. The City of Los Angeles runs a dozen courses, from Griffith Park to a nine-holer blocks from Venice Beach, and Los Angeles County runs 20 more at 18 facilities, which the county calls the largest publicly owned system in the nation. The pros came to the munis here. Rancho Park held the Los Angeles Open from 1956 through 1972, except 1968, and once more in 1983. That 1968 Open went to Brookside in Pasadena, next to the Rose Bowl, where Billy Casper won it.

Booking tee times in Los Angeles & Orange County: the local rules
City courses open tee times at 6 a.m.: nine days out with a Player Card, seven days out without one, online or at (818) 291-9980. Changes need 24 hours' notice. Since August 1, 2024, L.A. County courses release times eight days out at 8 p.m., per the county's golf information page; an older county FAQ still says seven. Demand is real. The city says tee-time brokers resell its times, and it cancels those bookings and suspends the player cards involved.

Why tee times in Los Angeles & Orange County are hard to get
With golf weather most of the year in Los Angeles & Orange County, the pressure never really lets up. Weekend mornings book up in every month.
Most public courses open their tee sheet a set number of days ahead, often 7 to 14, and many municipal courses give residents or card holders an earlier window. The best weekend-morning times usually go the day they're released. Leagues and outings take blocks of the sheet before the public ever sees them.
When tee time cancellations happen
A full tee sheet rarely stays full. Many courses let you cancel without a fee up to 24 or 48 hours before your time, so spots tend to reappear in the last couple of days. A bad forecast shakes more loose, and a foursome that drops to three opens a single. None of it is announced. The time just shows up again on the booking page, and whoever looks first gets it.

Yoink
All 135 courses in Los Angeles & Orange County, watched for you around the clock
Pick the courses you'd play and Yoink keeps an eye on all 135 courses in Los Angeles & Orange County. You see what's open in one place, and you hear about it the moment a time that fits your day, window and group turns up, cancellations included.
Doing it by hand? Here's what works.
- Know the booking window. Find out how many days ahead each course releases times, and whether residents get an earlier window. Be ready the morning it opens.
- Look again 24 to 48 hours out. That's when most cancellation deadlines pass and spots come back.
- Be flexible on group size. Singles and twosomes fit into gaps a foursome can't.
- Try twilight and weekday afternoons. They're the last to fill and often cheaper.
- Keep a quicker course in your back pocket. Nine-hole and executive courses are easier to get on and play faster. Around here that includes Ashwood Golf Course, Azusa Greens Golf Course and Bear Mountain Golf Course.
