Waco & Central Texas Golf Courses & Tee Times
Central Texas golf runs along I-35 from Waco south to College Station and west into the Hill Country, and most of it is small-town and daily-fee. Waco's anchor is Cottonwood Creek, the city's own 18. It is a Joseph Finger design that plays to par 72 at over 7,200 yards, and the Waco Tribune-Herald reported it on pace for more than 41,000 rounds in 2018. On the west side, Bear Ridge in Woodway is a 2001 Peter Jacobsen and Jim Hardy design along the Bosque rivers. It is home to the McLennan Community College men's team.

Why tee times in Waco & Central Texas are hard to get
In Waco & Central Texas, the busiest months are spring and fall. In summer, everyone wants to finish before the heat, so early tee times go first.
Most public courses open their tee sheet a set number of days ahead, often 7 to 14, and many municipal courses give residents or card holders an earlier window. The best weekend-morning times usually go the day they're released. Leagues and outings take blocks of the sheet before the public ever sees them.
When tee time cancellations happen
A full tee sheet rarely stays full. Many courses let you cancel without a fee up to 24 or 48 hours before your time, so spots tend to reappear in the last couple of days. A bad forecast shakes more loose, and a foursome that drops to three opens a single. None of it is announced. The time just shows up again on the booking page, and whoever looks first gets it.

Yoink
Watch all 15 courses in Waco & Central Texas. Hear the moment one opens.
Yoink checks all 15 courses in Waco & Central Texas every few minutes, so every open time is in one place and you're the first to know when one that fits your day, window and group appears, cancellations included.
Doing it by hand? Here's what works.
- Know the booking window. Find out how many days ahead each course releases times, and whether residents get an earlier window. Be ready the morning it opens.
- Look again 24 to 48 hours out. That's when most cancellation deadlines pass and spots come back.
- Be flexible on group size. Singles and twosomes fit into gaps a foursome can't.
- Try twilight and weekday afternoons. They're the last to fill and often cheaper.
- Keep a quicker course in your back pocket. Nine-hole and executive courses are easier to get on and play faster. Around here that includes Copperas Hollow Country Club.
