Dallas–Fort Worth Golf Courses & Tee Times
Dallas–Fort Worth has deep public golf roots. Cedar Crest in Dallas, an A.W. Tillinghast design, hosted the 1927 PGA, won by Walter Hagen for his fourth straight PGA title. The city bought it in 1946. Tenison Glen became Dallas' first city-owned course on land donated in 1924, hosted the 1968 USGA Public Links, and is where a young Lee Trevino learned the game. Fort Worth's Rockwood Park dates to 1938 and John Bredemus. The newest chapter is in Frisco, where the PGA of America's headquarters shares a property with Fields Ranch East, a Gil Hanse course that gets the 2027 and 2034 PGA Championships.

Why tee times in Dallas–Fort Worth are hard to get
In Dallas–Fort Worth, the busiest months are spring and fall. In summer, everyone wants to finish before the heat, so early tee times go first.
Most public courses open their tee sheet a set number of days ahead, often 7 to 14, and many municipal courses give residents or card holders an earlier window. The best weekend-morning times usually go the day they're released. Leagues and outings take blocks of the sheet before the public ever sees them.
When tee time cancellations happen
A full tee sheet rarely stays full. Many courses let you cancel without a fee up to 24 or 48 hours before your time, so spots tend to reappear in the last couple of days. A bad forecast shakes more loose, and a foursome that drops to three opens a single. None of it is announced. The time just shows up again on the booking page, and whoever looks first gets it.
How to get a tee time in Dallas–Fort Worth
Yoink
Every course in Dallas–Fort Worth on one watchlist: all 83 of them
Yoink checks all 83 courses in Dallas–Fort Worth every few minutes, so every open time is in one place and you're the first to know when one that fits your day, window and group appears, cancellations included.
Doing it by hand? Here's what works.
- Know the booking window. Find out how many days ahead each course releases times, and whether residents get an earlier window. Be ready the morning it opens.
- Look again 24 to 48 hours out. That's when most cancellation deadlines pass and spots come back.
- Be flexible on group size. Singles and twosomes fit into gaps a foursome can't.
- Try twilight and weekday afternoons. They're the last to fill and often cheaper.
- Keep a quicker course in your back pocket. Nine-hole and executive courses are easier to get on and play faster. Around here that includes Decatur Golf Club, Lake Park 9 Golf Club and Meadowbrook Park.
