About Serket
Serket is Rio Secco with a new name. Rees Jones built it in 1997 for the Rio hotel, and that year Golf Digest and Golf Magazine both put it among the top ten new public courses. Cabot, which has managed it for owner VICI Properties since 2022, closed it for several months and reopened it as Serket in fall 2025, with new signs, scorecards and tee markers. The name is the Egyptian goddess of protection, whose symbol is the scorpion.
It's a par 72 in the Black Mountains above Henderson. The front nine runs through desert canyons with steep walls on either side. The back nine opens with a climb to a plateau, with the Strip and the whole valley below. Several holes make you carry a desert canyon, though the forward tees shorten those carries.
