About Chimera Golf Club

This started as Tuscany Golf Club, Ted Robinson's course at the center of the Tuscany Village community, built on the former Stewart gravel pit and laid out to look like an Italian vineyard. It was finished in early 2002 but sat for more than a year behind lawsuits and permit delays before opening in 2003. Jim Rhodes bought it in 2004 and closed it to restore Robinson's original design, and by 2007 Golf Magazine had called it the number-one course in Las Vegas (per Wikipedia).

In 2015 two golfers bought it and renamed it Chimera, after the fire-breathing lion, goat and serpent of Greek myth. The tees are named Pegasus, Serpent, Goat and Lion, and an iron Chimera sculpture by Las Vegas artist Ramon Sanchez stands on the range. Owner Tom Burke said in 2025 that a new clubhouse was targeted for 2027.

It's 6,757 yards from the Pegasus tees (71.8 rating, 124 slope), with forgiving fairways and playable desert. The views are the point: the 9th finishes over water with a waterfall beside the green and the Strip and Mt. Charleston behind, the 11th tees off high with the Strip in front, and the 18th asks how much of the water on the left you want to take on, with the Stratosphere behind the green. Booking a tee time at Chimera Golf Club

Clark County residents can book 10 days ahead; non-residents should call (702) 951-1500, which answers around the clock. Bring proof of residency, a recent Clark County bill with matching photo ID, or you'll pay the non-resident rate. Casino employees can get a special rate on times booked up to 24 hours ahead. Cancel or cut players at least 48 hours out; no-shows cost $25 a person on weekdays and $35 on weekends. In 2026 the course closed for overseeding September 8-23.
