About Rock Hill Golf & Country Club

Rock Hill sits on one of the highest points on Long Island, out in Manorville. From the back tees it plays 7,050 yards to a par of 71. That's a lot of golf for a par 71. Pick your tees honestly.

The story is a good one. In 1964 a group of 13 golfing friends bought 438 acres here to build a public course open to anyone. One of them was Frank Duane, who drew up the layout. Duane went on to work with Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Arnold Palmer, and his other designs include Kapalua, Bellerive and Half Moon Bay Links. The ownership group still includes many descendants of those founders.

The course records tell you it can be scored on: 63 by Peicheng Chen, the 2023 NYS Open champion, and 64 by Zihan Xu. There's a practice area and a golf shop, and the Rock Grill for after. Michael Jacobs runs instruction here.

It's one of 3 courses in Manorville on Yoink, and Swan Lake Golf Club is practically next door — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
