About Overpeck Golf Course
Overpeck sits at the northern tip of the New Jersey Meadowlands, and it plays like it: the wind is always a factor, and there's water everywhere. Every hole on the front nine has water in play. Overpeck Creek cuts across 5, 6, 7 and 9, so you carry it off the tee at 6 and on the second shot at the others. The 10th and 11th are dry, and then the walk to the 12th tee shows you the lake that's in play on most of the closing seven. The county's own line is that finishing with the ball you started with is an accomplishment.
The good news is the fairways are ample and the greens are large, so it's a course about keeping the ball out of the water. It's 6,584 yards, par 72, and one of the six public courses Bergen County runs.
Bergen County recently finished a new clubhouse, capping a nearly $6 million investment: food service, a deck that looks out over the course, two indoor golf simulators, and a charging barn for 60 electric carts. From September 8, 2026 a cart path project has only nine holes open, at the nine-hole rate, so check before you book 18. Tuesday is maintenance day, with a late opening.
It's one of 20 courses Yoink watches in the Westchester & Hudson Valley area, and the closest alternative is Orchard Hills Golf Course, about 4 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
Booking a tee time at Overpeck Golf Course
All six Bergen County courses share one booking system. Registered golfers (Golf ID card, available at any county course; residents bring proof of residency) book 7 days out, with the 7th day opening at 7 p.m.; unregistered golfers get 3 days, opening at midnight. The 2026 18-hole rates are $37 weekdays and $45 weekends for adult Bergen residents, $55 and $60 for registered non-residents, and $74 and $90 unregistered. The county asks you to call the Golf Info Line (201-336-7280) before you drive over, since weather decides whether the course and carts are open. The pro shop is 201-336-7298.
