About Cedar Creek Golf Course

Cedar Creek is Berkeley Township's municipal course, in Veterans Park on the north side of the Cedar Creek. It's two different nines. The front is tight, with narrow fairways cut through the Pinelands pines, so keep the driver in the bag if it's wandering. The back opens into hills and three lakes.

Two holes stand out. The 11th is a 220-yard par 3 to an elevated green with bunkers around it. The 18th tee sits on one of the highest points in Ocean County, and you look south over two lakes toward Lacey Township before you hit. It's a par 72, 6,325 yards from the blues and 6,065 from the middle tees (68.9 rating, 117 slope).

There's older golf under it, too: the Pinewald Golf Club course opened in 1930 on land that's now part of Cedar Creek. The course is open year round, with a practice area, a small pro shop and rental clubs, and Birdies Bar and Grill is open to the public all year.

It's one of 30 courses Yoink watches in the South Jersey & the Shore area, and the closest alternative is Forge Pond Golf Course, about 12 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
