About Brigantine Golf Links
Brigantine is the rare true links in the Northeast, just over the bridge from Atlantic City. Wayne Stiles and John Van Kleek built it in 1927 as part of the island's master plan, and it still plays the way they meant: nearly treeless, gently rolling ground, native marsh, bay views and a prevailing sea breeze that changes the course day to day. It's flat as a table. The map survey puts the high point around 7 feet, counts water or marsh near 14 of the 18 holes and trees along only five, with about 50 bunkers. Course character from OpenStreetMap contributors' survey data.
It's a par 72 of 6,507 yards from the Championship tees (72.3, 129), with Regulation at 6,152, Silver at 5,254 and Forward at 5,053. The front nine is called Hagen and the back Vardon, a nod to the Golden Age; Walter Hagen was once an associate of the Stiles firm, and local legend has it the old pros of the 1920s practiced here before sailing for the British Open.
For more than 60 years it was Brigantine Country Club. A 1989 buyer renamed it Brigantine Golf Links, and the City of Brigantine bought it in July 2002, running it through Meadowbrook Golf (as The Links at Brigantine Beach) and later the Atlantic County Improvement Authority. As of 2026 the city runs it directly. Joel Weiman of Weiman Golf Design is drawing a master plan with new tees and restored bunkers, a new irrigation system and cart paths are already in, and a new clubhouse is due to start construction in fall 2026, ahead of the course's 100th year in 2027.
It's one of 30 courses Yoink watches in the South Jersey & the Shore area, and the closest alternative is Seaview Golf Club - Pines Course, about 6 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
