Myrtle Beach Golf Courses & Tee Times
Myrtle Beach golf is resort golf. It started in 1927 with the Ocean Forest Country Club, now Pine Lakes, designed by Robert White, the first president of the PGA. The Dunes Club followed in 1948 with a Robert Trent Jones layout, and Myrtlewood came in 1966. The next year local businessmen founded Golf Holiday to sell golf trips, with the tee times booked alongside the hotel room. That was the golf package, and it built the Grand Strand. The course count peaked around 120 along 60 miles of coast, and Visit Myrtle Beach now lists more than 90, from Pawleys Island up into Brunswick County, North Carolina.
Good weekend tee times in Myrtle Beach go fast, and the ones that come back later (cancellations, groups that shrink) aren't announced. Yoink watches the tee sheets at 59 public courses here, from Pawleys Island, North Myrtle Beach, Murrells Inlet, Conway and Little River, and tells you the moment a time you want opens up.
The longest layout here is Grande Dunes - Resort Course at 7,618 yards; there is one executive or par-3 course for a quicker round.
Who runs public golf in Myrtle Beach
There is almost no city or county golf here. The courses are daily-fee and resort layouts, open to anyone with a tee time, and many are run by management groups; Founders Group International runs 22 of them, including Pine Lakes and TPC Myrtle Beach. Even the Dunes Club, a member club, takes package golfers as guests, and it has hosted the PGA Tour's Myrtle Beach Classic since the event started in 2024. Every late summer the World Am brings about 3,000 amateurs for 72 holes, flighted by age, gender and handicap, across dozens of area courses.

Booking tee times in Myrtle Beach: the local rules
Most tee times here are sold with a room. Golf Holiday's original idea was to book the tee times when you book the hotel, and that is still how most trips come together. The busy months are March to May and September to November, when the weather is mild. In June through August, the Kids Play Free program covers kids 16 and under.

Why tee times in Myrtle Beach are hard to get
In Myrtle Beach, the busiest months are spring and fall. In summer, everyone wants to finish before the heat, so early tee times go first.
Most public courses open their tee sheet a set number of days ahead, often 7 to 14, and many municipal courses give residents or card holders an earlier window. The best weekend-morning times usually go the day they're released. Leagues and outings take blocks of the sheet before the public ever sees them.
When tee time cancellations happen
A full tee sheet rarely stays full. Many courses let you cancel without a fee up to 24 or 48 hours before your time, so spots tend to reappear in the last couple of days. A bad forecast shakes more loose, and a foursome that drops to three opens a single. None of it is announced. The time just shows up again on the booking page, and whoever looks first gets it.

Yoink
Watch all 59 courses in Myrtle Beach. Hear the moment one opens.
Pick the courses you'd play and Yoink keeps an eye on all 59 courses in Myrtle Beach. You see what's open in one place, and you hear about it the moment a time that fits your day, window and group turns up, cancellations included.
Doing it by hand? Here's what works.
- Know the booking window. Find out how many days ahead each course releases times, and whether residents get an earlier window. Be ready the morning it opens.
- Look again 24 to 48 hours out. That's when most cancellation deadlines pass and spots come back.
- Be flexible on group size. Singles and twosomes fit into gaps a foursome can't.
- Try twilight and weekday afternoons. They're the last to fill and often cheaper.
- Keep a quicker course in your back pocket. Nine-hole and executive courses are easier to get on and play faster. Around here that includes Tupelo Bay Golf Complex - Executive Course.
