About Lido Golf Club

Lido is the Town of Hempstead's 18-hole course, out on the barrier island in Lido Beach. It's a links-style par 72 that stretches to 6,896 yards. The map tells the story: it's dead flat, water touches 11 holes, you carry it on five, and there are more than 70 bunkers. Trees line only 10 of the 18. Don't confuse it with the Lido golfers still talk about. Charles Blair Macdonald's original Lido was built in 1915, and the Navy tore it up in 1942 to build a base. Today's course came later, in the 1950s, from Robert Trent Jones. It's a different golf course, but it keeps a nod to the old one: a replica of Macdonald's 4th hole.

In 2026 the town began reconstructing nine greens and upgrading irrigation. While the work goes on, two temporary putting surfaces and seven shared greens are in play, and the town has cut every listed price in half. It's open year-round, dawn to dusk, and closed Wednesdays. There's a driving range, putting and chipping greens, and a PGA teaching pro in the shop.

It's one of 46 courses Yoink watches in the Long Island area, and the closest alternative is The Golf Club at Middle Bay, about 4 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
