About Gull Haven Golf Course
Gull Haven is the Town of Islip's executive nine in Central Islip, and plenty of people go around twice for a full 18. The scorecard reads par 35: six par 4s from 284 to 355 yards, a 467-yard par-5 sixth, and two par 3s to finish. From the back it's 2,727 yards; the men's tees play 2,609 and the ladies' 2,384.
The holes are flat and open, and there's no water anywhere. What keeps scores honest is the greens. They're small, so you have to hit your approaches; a miss leaves a chip. That makes it a good place for juniors, beginners and families, and a good one for sharpening your wedges.
It's one of 46 courses Yoink watches in the Long Island area, and the closest alternative is Brentwood Country Club, about 3 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
