About Paiute Golf Resort - Snow
Snow Mountain was the first of Pete Dye's three courses at the Las Vegas Paiute resort, opening in 1995 (per a 2021 Elevated Magazines article), and the Paiute name on its page is Nu-Wav-Kaiv. It plays 7,164 yards at par 72. The fairways are wide rye grass, the bunkers are faced with Dye's railroad ties, seven holes have water, and no two fairways run side by side.
The resort says it has the best par 3s on the property, and the finish is what people remember: 16, 17 and 18 are built as risk-reward holes, so a good card can still go either way late. The course record is 64, held by Mark Vukovich.
Snow Mountain was 35th on GolfAdvisor's 2016 list of top U.S. courses, one spot behind Sun Mountain. Elevated Magazines reports that Golf Digest named it Nevada's No. 1 public-access course in 1995, the year it opened. There are no homes on the resort's courses, and it sits 25 minutes northwest of the Strip.
