About Pryor Creek Golf Club - Elmer Link

Pryor Creek is one of only two 36-hole golf facilities in Montana, set along Pryor Creek about 13 miles northeast of Billings. Elmer Link dreamed it up and laid it out with Johnny Walker, a PGA life member, and it opened in 1980. The two courses carry their names, and Elmer's son Joe Link runs the place today.

The Elmer Link Course is the members' course: the club says it's for members and their guests, and the posted 2026 rates say a guest must be accompanied by a member. The Johnny Walker Course next door is the one open to the public.

The front nine, the North course, drops from the clubhouse to the bottom of the Pryor Creek valley along tree-lined fairways and the creek. The hole everyone knows is the 6th, the Rockchuck Hole, a double-dogleg par 5 that runs along the bluffs and leans right the whole way; the club calls it the signature hole. After the climb back to the clubhouse, the back nine, the West course, is all uphill and downhill shots, so expect to change clubs a lot. The 17th tee is one of the highest points on the property and has the view.

This course is for members and their guests; guests play with a member. 2026 guest rates on the Elmer Link are $46 for 18 walking and $64 with a cart ($29 and $38 for nine). If you're not a member, the Johnny Walker Course is the public option. The shop is (406) 348-3900.
