About Twisted Oaks Golf Club

Twisted Oaks calls itself links-style, and the ground backs it up: the club says players used to flat Florida layouts are surprised by how much it rolls. The map survey counts about 65 bunkers but water on only four holes, one of them a carry, and 11 doglegs split almost evenly left and right. So the sand does most of the defending. Course character from OpenStreetMap contributors' survey data.

From the black tees it's 6,845 yards with a 73.0 rating and 130 slope, a real test. The blues (6,549) and whites (6,019) are where most people belong, and the golds (5,359) and reds (4,649) bring it down a lot. The practice area has chipping and putting greens, fairway and greenside bunkers and a range with target greens. The range closes for maintenance from 3 p.m. Monday until 10 a.m. Tuesday. The Oaks Grill does weekend breakfast and lunch every day.

It's one of 116 courses Yoink watches in the Tampa Bay area, and the closest alternative is Citrus Hills Oaks-Meadows-Skyview at Terra Vista - Skyview at Terra Vista, about 3 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
