About Citrus Hills Oaks-Meadows-Skyview at Terra Vista - Oaks at Citrus Hills

The Oaks is the hilly one at Citrus Hills. Fairways run between mature live oaks and tall loblolly pines, and the ground rises and falls enough that the club compares it to the sand hills of the Carolinas rather than anything on the Gulf Coast. It's par 72 and only 6,323 yards (70.5 rating, 126 slope), but the club's own advice is to use every club in the bag: it rewards a bold, well-struck shot and can punish a loose one, with a mix of long and short holes.

Carts are required here because of the layout and the elevation. The Oaks shares its clubhouse and address on East Hartford with the gentler Meadows course, and the clubhouse has a pro shop, member-only restaurants and a 4,500-square-foot tiki bar for the 19th hole.

Citrus Hills itself goes back to the early 1980s, when Sam Tamposi and Gerald Nash started the community and recruited Red Sox great Ted Williams to promote it. The golf is part of a privately owned, member-focused club, and Skyview at Terra Vista is its third 18.

It's one of 3 courses in Hernando on Yoink, and Citrus Hills Oaks-Meadows-Skyview at Terra Vista - Skyview at Terra Vista is practically next door — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
