About The Links at Greenfield Plantation
Greenfield Plantation is a Chip Powell design that opened in 1998, par 72 with six sets of tees from 3,752 to 6,756 yards. Water is the story. Lakes and wetlands come into play on most of the round, and several tee shots carry marsh, including 11, which the course itself calls arguably the toughest drive on the property.
The hole everyone remembers is the 8th, a short par 5 with a sharp dogleg right, water the whole way down the right and woods on the left. Long hitters can cut the corner and get home in two; the smart play is short of the fairway bunker. The course points to 2, 14 and 16 as the best birdie chances, and calls 15, with its long, narrow, steeply sloped green, the hardest par 3. Take par there and move on.
It has been family owned since 2012 and is the sister course of The River Club in Lakewood Ranch. There are no memberships at all. It's 100% public, and the range is open to anyone, golf or not.
It's one of 11 courses in Bradenton on Yoink, and the closest alternative is Heritage Harbour Golf Club (Bradenton, FL), about 1 mile away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
