David Martin Alden set out to build something unlike the usual Florida layout, routed it through native wetlands and marsh, and put water in play on every hole; the club says the 6,270 yards play more like 7,200. The 7th asks how much of a water-and-ditch carry about 260 yards out you want to take on, the 9th is a 495-yard par 5 bending left around water that you can reach in two, and the 10th opens the back with a 440-yard par 4 with water down the right. After that, no par 4 is over 400 yards, but the doglegs and forced carries keep coming.
