The Palms sits on the old Forest Lakes Golf Club, which the 2008 recession took down. Gordy Lewis redesigned it and it reopened in early 2016 as a par 64 with two different nines. The front is a regular par 35 with a par 5; the back is a par 29 of seven par 3s and two par 4s, which makes it a quick nine after work. Four sets of tees run from 2,731 to 4,545 yards.

It's short, not soft. The greens are TifEagle and elevated, the fairways are Celebration Bermuda, and there's water on plenty of holes: the 490-yard par-5 3rd has water crossing about 220 yards short of the green. Three holes sit across Beneva Road with the aqua range, which has floating target greens, and the clubhouse looks over the 18th.
