About Mangrove Bay Golf Course

Mangrove Bay is the full-size course in the City of St. Petersburg's three-course group, on 180 acres in the northeast part of town. It's a par 72, 36 out and 36 in, and at 6,656 yards from the Black tees (71.3 rating, 116 slope) it isn't a long or punishing test. Six sets of tees run down to 5,176 from the Reds, so everyone in the group can find a fit.

The greens are USGA-modified Platinum Paspalum. The practice setup is real for a city course: a driving range plus putting, chipping and pitching areas, and there are lockers and showers, a snack bar and PGA instruction. Cypress Links, a nine-hole par-3 course, sits at the entrance if you want a warm-up or a second loop.

It picks up some notice for a muni. Men's Health put it among the best Florida courses where you can book a tee time in 2023, Journey Junket named it one of the best budget-friendly courses in the state in 2025, and E-Z-GO made it a Green Ambassador in 2024 for its sustainability work.

It's one of 116 courses Yoink watches in the Tampa Bay area, and the closest alternative is Mainlands Golf Club, about 5 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
