About Spook Rock Golf Course

Spook Rock is the Town of Ramapo's course, 150 acres off Spook Rock Road in Montebello, run for the town by Applied Golf. The road took its name from Native American lore, and the course took its name from the road. It's a par 72, and from the blue tees it's a real test at 6,806 yards with a 72.9 rating and 139 slope. Most people will be happier at the whites (6,270), and the gold (5,521) and red (4,880) tees shorten it a lot.

Frank Duane designed it and built it too. The front nine opened in 1969 and the back followed in 1970, on the ground that used to be Kane's Open, the first Boy Scout camp in the United States. There's a driving range, a teaching staff and summer junior camps, and the course app has GPS yardages and a digital scorecard.
