About Saxon Woods Golf Course

Saxon Woods is one of Westchester County's six public courses, designed by Tom Winton and open to the public since 1931. The county's own description is short and fair: rolling, wooded land that gives the course its character. It measures 6,293 yards, with a 70.9 rating and 128 slope, and the par changes with the season, 72 in winter and spring and 71 in summer.

The county has renovated every tee and several of the greens, and there's a newer restaurant and concession, the Saxon Woods Grill, for after the round.

It's one of 20 courses Yoink watches in the Westchester & Hudson Valley area, and the closest alternative is Lake Isle Country Club, about 2 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.

Booking a tee time at Saxon Woods Golf Course

Westchester residents with a county Park Pass can book online up to seven days ahead; non-pass holders go through a separate reservation page. Regulars can also buy into E-Z Reserve, a standing weekend tee time for the season: for 2026 it was $400 at pre-registration for 30 weeks, with the courses scheduled to open March 25, 2026. No-shows are charged the greens fee for each missing player, so cancel early; the county's pages give different cancellation deadlines, so check with the pro shop at (914) 231-3461.
