About Mohansic Golf Course
Mohansic is Westchester County's northernmost course and, by the county's own description, its toughest. It's par 70 and 6,558 yards (70.1 rating, 124 slope), so length isn't the problem. The ground is. Rolling hills and fairly steep slopes mean few flat lies, the holes are tight, and Hudson Valley Magazine points to the small, fast greens as the other half of the test.
The hard stuff shows up early. The 3rd is a 425-yard par 4 with a blind tee shot to a narrow, tree-lined fairway and a slightly uphill green. The 4th is a 442-yard uphill dogleg that wants a draw around the corner and finishes at an elevated green with bunkers on both sides.
This is where county-owned golf in Westchester started: Hudson Valley Magazine says Mohansic opened in Yorktown in 1926, and it was one of the five original county courses. The county says all 18 tees have been rebuilt recently and several greens upgraded. There's a driving range, though it was closed for renovation in fall 2026.

Weekend 18-hole rates are $47 with a Park Pass and $62 without, and there's a $3 reservation fee without one. Change or cancel at least 24 hours ahead and check in 30 minutes before your time. Regulars can buy an E-Z Reserve standing weekend time ($400 at pre-registration for 30 weeks in 2026). The 2026 season opened March 25.
