Bally's Golf Links at Ferry Point

Nicklaus's treeless, Irish-style links on an old Bronx landfill by the Whitestone Bridge, with tees up to 55 feet high and the Manhattan skyline in view.

About Bally's Golf Links at Ferry Point

Ferry Point is Jack Nicklaus's links in the Bronx, on 222 acres beside the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge. It's nearly treeless by design: tall native grasses, dunes and wide views, with the Manhattan skyline visible from most holes. Some tees sit as much as 55 feet above grade.

The ground under it was a garbage dump. The Department of Sanitation filled the old cove with raw landfill from 1952 to 1970, and the city spent the early 2000s planning a golf course, community park and waterfront on top. Nicklaus designed it with Sanford Design, and the course opened in 2015. It stretches to about 7,400 yards, and Nicklaus said he built it to be strong enough from the back tees to hold a national or international event.

It opened under a Trump Organization concession. In early 2021 the city moved to end its Trump contracts, and Bally's Corporation took over the operating lease and the name. Bally's has since won a state casino license, approved December 15, 2025, for a resort at the park, scheduled to open in 2030.
