About Las Vegas Golf Club
This is the City of Las Vegas's first municipal course, still owned by the city and run by Arcis Golf. The club calls it the oldest course in the Valley and the closest to downtown, and it plays like a course from another era: a William P. Bell design in the classic style, with wide fairways lined by mature cottonwoods and pines.
It's a par 72 of 6,319 yards with four sets of tees, so it's more about angles than length. Four short par 5s give you chances, the opener is a drivable par 4, and the par-3 3rd, over water, is the one that bites. The trouble is around the greens: 30 greenside bunkers, with gently rolling putting surfaces inside them.
The course has had a complete renovation meant to honor Bell's original design. There's an all-grass driving range, a golf shop and a bar and grille that serves American food seven days a week.
It's one of 35 courses Yoink watches in the Las Vegas area, and the closest alternative is Angel Park Golf Club - Palm Course, about 5 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
