About TPC Las Vegas
This is the public TPC in Las Vegas, built in 1996 as TPC at The Canyons and designed by Bobby Weed with Raymond Floyd. It's desert golf in Summerlin with Red Rock Canyon behind it and the Strip skyline in view. It's par 71 and 7,016 yards from the tips, but the number to know is the blended tee: nine holes from the Blue (6,699) and nine from the White (5,867) for 6,221 yards, which takes a lot of the forced carries out of play. There are six sets of tees in all.
The 2nd, named Canyon, is the hole people talk about: a par 3 that asks for almost a 200-yard carry from the tips to a green that sits like an island in the desert. Plan for carries like that, not for rough.
The tour history is real. It hosted the PGA Tour Champions' Las Vegas Senior Classic from 1997 to 1999 and the PGA Tour's Shriners Hospitals for Children Open from 2000 to 2006, and it won the 2013 Silver State Award as Nevada's best course. It's an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, and the TPC Grille is the post-round stop.
