About Audubon Park Golf Club
Audubon is the course inside Audubon Park, a few minutes from downtown. It's short and tight on purpose: 18 holes, par 62, 4,220 yards, under a canopy of live oaks that have been there a century or more. Four lagoons come into play, the fairways are contoured Bermuda and the greens are TifEagle. At that length most holes are short, so it's a test of accuracy under the trees more than of distance.
There's been golf here since 1898. Denis Griffiths redesigned the course in 2001, and in 2004 it earned Audubon International's Silver Signature Sanctuary certification; it was the first property in Louisiana certified through that program. Gambit's Best of New Orleans named it one of the city's best courses in 2021, and in 2025 its director of golf, Drew Goff, was the Louisiana PGA's Golf Professional of the Year.
The Audubon Park Clubhouse overlooks the course for lunch and drinks afterward, and the Audubon Nature Institute runs the whole place.
It's one of 36 courses Yoink watches in the New Orleans & Baton Rouge area, and the closest alternative is TPC Louisiana Golf Club, about 3 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
