About TPC Tampa Bay

The PGA Tour built TPC Tampa Bay in 1991, with Bobby Weed designing and Chi Chi Rodriguez as player consultant. It winds through wetlands, cypress heads and lagoons, and it's one of only two Audubon Cooperative Sanctuaries in the Tampa Bay area, so expect wildlife. The Tour sold it to Heritage Golf Group in 2008, but it kept the TPC name under license.

It's par 71 and runs from 4,990 yards up to just under 7,000. Water is the story: the map survey has it on 14 holes, eight of them carries, with 78 bunkers and trees along 17 holes, all on flat ground. For 21 straight years it hosted the PGA Tour Champions event in Tampa, which Wikipedia names as the Encompass Insurance Pro-Am of Tampa Bay, and the crowds gathered around the 17th green. It's a member club that also sells daily-fee times, and the ¡CUATRO restaurant is open to the public every day.
