About Manatee County Golf Course
This is Manatee County's own course in west Bradenton, a Ron Garl design that opened in 1988 and is run for the county by Fusion Golf. It's the closest public course to Anna Maria Island, Holmes Beach and Longboat Key, and it has a reputation as one of the busiest public courses around Tampa Bay. It was featured on Dream 18.
The ground is Florida flat and wet. The map survey has water on 11 holes and trees along 12, and all four doglegs turn left, but the course points out there are no forced carries. Course character from OpenStreetMap contributors' survey data. It's par 72 with five sets of tees down to a short Family set, and the hole people mention is a 500-yard par 5 that bends around a lake to a tiered green. The greens are TifEagle.
There's a grass-tee range open every day, putting and chipping greens, PGA instruction and a snack bar clubhouse. A county golf membership covers both Manatee and its sister course, Buffalo Creek, so if one is full, check the other.
It's one of 11 courses in Bradenton on Yoink, and Manatee Golf Course is practically next door — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
