Sedona Golf Resort

Gary Panks routed it through the red rocks in 1987, on the land where Henry Fonda and Glenn Ford shot the 1965 western Rounders.

About Sedona Golf Resort

Sedona Golf Resort is a par 71 of 6,646 yards, and the rocks are the point. Gary Panks designed it in 1987 to work around Sedona's natural formations rather than through them, so the red rock frames the fairways and the ground rises and falls as you go. The resort's own line for it: like playing golf in the Grand Canyon.

Bunkers guard the greens, so the short game gets tested, and water runs along the edge of the 17th green late in the round. Before it was a golf course, the land was a film set: the 1965 western Rounders, with Glenn Ford and Henry Fonda, was shot right here.

The Allred family bought the resort in 2021 and added it to their Arizona Hideaway Collection alongside The Hermosa Inn, Tubac and Rancho Mañana. It's in the Troon portfolio too, so Troon Card holders get discounted rates. There's a full range, putting and chipping greens, Titleist and Callaway rental sets, PGA lessons, and the Juniper Bar and Grille after the round.
