About Prescott Golf Club

Prescott Golf Club sits in the valley between the Mingus and Bradshaw mountains in Dewey, just east of Prescott. The club calls it parkland with a high-desert flair, and that's the feel: tree-lined fairways and bentgrass greens set against dry, open country. Landing areas are generous, but the greens have plenty of movement, so the scoring happens on and around them.

It opened in 1971, and the Arizona Golf Authority credits the design to Milt Coggins. Par is 72, playing from about 5,700 to 6,800 yards depending on the tees. It's semi-private, with members and the public sharing the course, and it's long been a summer escape for Phoenix and Scottsdale golfers, about 90 minutes up the road. There's a double-sided practice area with a bunker and short-game greens, and Redwoods Grill has a patio facing the mountains.
