About Troon North Golf Club

Troon North is desert golf in the classic Scottsdale style: fairways and bentgrass greens set into the ravines and foothills below Pinnacle Peak, with giant granite boulders scattered through the Sonoran Desert around them. There are two 18s here, the Monument and the Pinnacle.

Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish laid out the Monument in 1990, and the Pinnacle followed five years later. Weiskopf, a British Open champion, came back to rework both, and the club says the renovations bring his original concept back to life. Golfweek's 2026 Best Courses You Can Play list has them back to back in Arizona: the Monument 10th and the Pinnacle 11th.

Range balls come with the green fee, and the range is only open to players with a tee time or a lesson, so warm up there rather than planning a separate range session. It's a full-length turf range with six target greens from 50 to 250 yards, plus a big putting green and a chipping green. The Dynamite Grille does breakfast, lunch and dinner, and there are full locker rooms with towels.

It's one of 20 courses in Scottsdale on Yoink, and the closest alternative is Legend Trail Golf Club, about 4 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
