About Rock Island Golf Course
Rock Island sits just outside East Wenatchee. For decades it was a nine-hole course; the second nine opened in 2011, and the club now bills it as 18 new and revamped holes at par 72 and 7,127 yards from the back, with five sets of tees.
It's open ground rather than a tree tunnel. On the map survey only 3 holes are tree-lined, water touches 9 of the 18, there are about 39 bunkers, and the property rises about 210 feet from low to high. Visit Wenatchee calls the 13th the signature hole, a dogleg around a big water hazard. Course character from OpenStreetMap contributors' survey data.
The course is a sister to Desert Canyon, Bear Mountain Ranch and Alta Lake, and a Rock Island membership gets half off green fees at all three. Wenatchee Valley Sports notes it plays nearly year-round.
It's one of 12 courses Yoink watches in the Wenatchee, Chelan & Central Washington area, and the closest alternative is Desert Canyon Golf Resort, about 23 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
