Utah Golf Courses & Tee Times

Utah's golf association, the UGA, was organized informally in the state's early golf years and for its first half century did one thing: run the Utah State Amateur. It was incorporated in 1966, and the State Amateur reached its 128th playing in 2026 at Soldier Hollow, a state park course. The oldest course in the state is Forest Dale, built in 1906 as the Salt Lake Country Club. Nibley Park, opened by Salt Lake City in 1922, is the oldest public course in the state.

Tee times in Utah are easier to get when you know when they open. Yoink watches 78 public golf courses here, grouped into 2 markets: Salt Lake City, St. George & Southern Utah. Choose a market to see every course, then get an alert when a tee time opens or someone cancels.

Soldier Hollow sits on a 2002 Winter Olympics venue, which is why its courses are called Gold and Silver. State Parks shows non-resident rates online and applies Utah resident, senior and junior discounts at check-in. Getting a tee time in Utah

The season in Utah runs roughly from spring to late fall. The first warm weekends in spring and the cool, dry weekends of fall are the hardest to book.

Each course releases its tee times on its own schedule, commonly a week or two out, with residents of town and county courses often booking first. Leagues, outings and members claim chunks of the sheet in advance, and whatever prime weekend times are left tend to go on release day.

A full tee sheet rarely stays full. Many courses let you cancel without a fee up to 24 or 48 hours before your time, so spots tend to reappear in the last couple of days. A bad forecast shakes more loose, and a foursome that drops to three opens a single. None of it is announced. The time just shows up again on the booking page, and whoever looks first gets it.
