About Bluffton Golf Club

Bluffton is an old-style 18 a few miles south of town, just off I-75, about 20 minutes from Lima or Findlay. It was built in 1937 and plays to a par 72, 6,628 yards from the blue tees. The thing to know is the creek: Little Riley Creek winds through the property under mature trees and comes into play on 13 holes, so the round is more about keeping it out of the water than overpowering it.

It's been a family operation since July 1989, when PGA pro Floyd Young bought it. The family's own account says plenty of locals called it a goat track back then. Floyd, who caddied for Jack Nicklaus at the 1971 PGA Championship and went into the Lima/Allen County Golf Hall of Fame in 2014, runs it with his wife Drue, and son Luke has been the superintendent since 2002. The Youngs also own Hidden Creek in Lima, and one membership covers both.

It's a busy local course: home to several area high school teams, a range and practice area, a banquet room for outings, and a snack bar. Rental clubs are available on a first-come basis.
