About The Learning Center at Galloping Hill

The Learning Center is Galloping Hill's second course and its practice ground in one. The nine is a par 33 that tops out at 2,348 yards, and the course pitches it as the place to take what you worked on in a lesson out onto real holes, with the Galloping Hill Golf Academy right there.

The practice setup is the real draw. The range has 52 stalls, 20 of them covered and heated, on a 45,000-square-foot practice area with natural turf, target greens and a chipping area with bunkers, plus a new golf simulator for year-round practice. KemperSports, which has run Galloping Hill for Union County since January 2010, lists it as a GRAA Top 50 learning center, though it gives no year.

Next door is the main 18, known as The Hill for its rolling hills and valleys: Willard Wilkinson's design, renovated by Rees Jones in 2014, and host of the 2016 NJSGA Open. The New Jersey State Golf Association, First Tee of Raritan Valley and Girls Golf of Greater Newark are all based at Galloping Hill.

It's one of 75 courses Yoink watches in the Northern & Central New Jersey area, and Galloping Hill Golf Course is practically next door — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
