Hyatt Hills Golf Complex

A regulation nine on the old Hyatt roller-bearing plant site, opened in 2002; holes 6, 7 and 8 all bring the big pond into play.

About Hyatt Hills Golf Complex

Hyatt Hills is a full-length nine, not a pitch-and-putt: 2,625 to 3,350 yards depending on the tees, with bentgrass tees, fairways and greens and bluegrass and fescue rough. The stretch people talk about is 6, 7 and 8, where a large pond is in play on all three; the course calls it its amen corner. The par-5 2nd runs 500 yards with a big bunker on the right if you're trying to get home in two.

The land has a history. General Motors built a plant here in 1938 that made rubber auto parts and, for most of its life, roller bearings for cars and railroads. It became Hyatt Clark Industries in 1981, shut down in 1987, and went back to GM in 1989. After the cleanup, it was redeveloped as a golf course in 2002 on about 85 acres straddling Clark and Cranford, and the deed limits it to golf. RACER Trust, set up to handle old GM properties, was named as the owner in 2016 and still lists the property.

Beyond the nine there's a 50-station range with 11 covered, heated bays, an 18-hole mini golf course and Oh' Brian's pub.
