The East is the shorter of Tamarack's two Hal Purdy courses, 6,226 yards and par 71, on the Middlesex County facility that opened in 1973. Next door the West runs 7,025 yards and par 72 and was rebuilt in an 18-month project that reopened it on June 12, 2025, so the East is the shorter of the two. Many of the county's high school teams play out of Tamarack, and the New Jersey State Golf Association has rated the facility the second most difficult across Middlesex, Monmouth, Mercer, Somerset and Union counties.
