About TPC Deere Run
This is the PGA Tour's own course in the Quad Cities: a D.A. Weibring design, par 71 and 7,256 yards from the tips, built on a former Arabian horse farm and routed along wooded ravines above the Rock River. It has hosted the John Deere Classic every July since 2000, the week before the Open Championship. The forward tees play 5,179 yards, so you don't need a tour game to get around. Every hole is named for the land's history, which runs from Native American settlement going back about 5,000 years through farming, coal mining and horse and cattle breeding. The 16th, the course's signature hole, is called Mother Earth. The 10th, a 596-yard par 5, is the longest on the card.
Paul Goydos shot 59 here in the first round of the 2010 John Deere Classic, and Hayden Springer matched it in 2024. The tournament has sent players to the Open, too: Sean O'Hair's 2005 win got him into the British Open during his rookie-of-the-year season.
