About Saukie Golf Course
Saukie is Rock Island's short course, and it has been around for almost a century. Thomas Bendelow designed it; it was built in 1927 and opened in 1928. It plays to par 66 at just over 5,000 yards, which the city calls executive length, and it's a good place for a quick round, a new golfer or a short game that needs work.
It's a city course, run alongside Highland Springs, and the prices are low: $24 to walk 18 on a weekday morning, $36 to ride. The clubhouse is new, opened in June 2025, with seating inside and on a patio that looks over the course, a full bar, big-screen TVs and an AG golf simulator, and it stays open all year.
