About Zephyrhills Golf Course

Zephyrhills is the city's short course, par 68 and 5,054 yards from the back tees (70.0 rating, 113 slope). It sits on 65 acres in the southwest corner of Zephyrhills Municipal Airport, and when the city built an access road to the airport infield, it went in along the fence line of the second hole. It's a quick round built on irons and wedges, and the local reputation is a low-cost course that welcomes beginners, seniors and golfers with disabilities.

Winter is the busy season. The operator told the Laker/Lutz News in 2021 that from October through February the course can see more than 1,500 players a week and some 6,000 rounds a month, a lot of them snowbirds. Book ahead in those months.

It was established in 1957. The city owns it and has leased it to Under Par Inc. to run since 2002. In 2021 the city looked at selling the land, and the National Guard scouted it for an armory. Golfers turned out at council meetings to keep it, the Guard went elsewhere, and in November 2021 the council extended Under Par's lease to April 30, 2032.

It's one of 3 courses in Zephyrhills on Yoink, and the closest alternative is Southport Springs Golf Club, about 4 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
