About Bent Creek Golf Course
Bent Creek is the City of Jacksonville's public course, opened in 1989 and designed by Bobby Weed with Mark McCumber consulting. It's a par 71 of 6,620 yards, and it winds through a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, under tall pines and alongside creeks and swales.
Water is the thing to watch. The map survey shows water near 11 holes, much of it creeks running beside the fairways, trees along 17 holes and 36 bunkers, so keeping it straight matters more than length. The greens are Bermuda. Course character from OpenStreetMap contributors' survey data.
The course has been getting better. GolfPass's 2023 list of the Top 25 Most Improved Golf Courses in the country had it at No. 13, and the course credits its agronomy team. The practice facility is lighted and home to the Bent Creek Golf Academy, a Toptracer range called The Range at Bent Creek is on the way, and the 19th Hole has food, a bar and a patio for after the round.
It's one of 44 courses Yoink watches in the Jacksonville area, and the closest alternative is Eagle Landing Golf Club, about 6 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
