About Rock Manor Golf Course

Rock Manor is the City of Wilmington's course, just off I-95, and it dates to 1921. It closed for two years for a full rebuild by Lester George, who lengthened it from 5,779 yards by more than 600 yards and put in new tees, greens, bunkers, fairways and irrigation. It's also an Audubon International Cooperative Sanctuary.

The clubhouse is a circa-1921 stone-fronted building restored to keep its original character, with the old stone fireplace as the centerpiece, a golf shop and the On the Rocks Pub, which does breakfast and lunch every day. For warming up there's a lighted, natural-grass driving range, a putting green and a chipping area with bunkers.

It's one of 4 courses in Wilmington on Yoink, and the closest alternative is Ed Oliver Golf Club, about 4 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
