About Haymaker Golf Course
Haymaker is Steamboat's city-owned course, a Keith Foster design built out of ranch land and rock piles on 233 acres in the Yampa Valley. It plays links-style: native grasses and wetlands, big greens and gentle undulations that follow the ground. There's no housing on the property, so what you see is the valley, Mount Werner on every hole and the Flat Tops behind. Elk, eagles and blue herons use the place too, and it's an Audubon International Signature Program course.
There are at least four sets of tees on every hole, from 5,059 to 7,308 yards, with combo tees in between, so there's a set that fits almost any game. Golfweek ranked it 5th among Colorado courses you can play in 2023, and Colorado Avid Golfer named it the top mountain course that same year. The practice area has a range, a practice bunker, chipping and a putting green.
