Mission Bay Golf Course

A Ted Robinson executive course, 14 par 3s and four par 4s on just 46 acres near the bay. Tiger Woods won a Junior World title here.

About Mission Bay Golf Course

Mission Bay is the City of San Diego's short course: par 58, about 2,700 yards, with four par 4s and 14 par 3s squeezed onto 46 acres near the bay in Pacific Beach. A regulation course usually needs 75 to 100 acres, per the city's golf committee. Ted Robinson, a former president of the American Society of Golf Course Architects, designed it.

It's short enough to walk and it's busy, one of the city's most-used golf sites, with more than 85,000 rounds in fiscal 2023. It's the home course for the Mission Bay High School team, and around 20 high school teams practice here. It's also where Tiger Woods won a Junior World title.

The practice center is a big part of the draw: a range open until 9:30 p.m. (grass tees close in winter), putting and chipping greens, practice sand, and lessons from Lion Golf Academy. Mission Bay has been the only San Diego course lit for night golf, but night golf was suspended as of September 1, 2026 while new front-nine lighting is tested.

It's one of 49 courses Yoink watches in the San Diego area, and the closest alternative is Riverwalk Golf Club, about 3 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
