About The Omni Homestead Resort & Spa - Cascades Course
The Cascades is the Homestead's championship course, designed by William S. Flynn, one of the main architects of Shinnecock Hills, and opened in 1923. It's mountain golf in the Alleghenies around Hot Springs, and Flynn let the ground do the work: the slopes shape the shots rather than dictate them. Sam Snead, who lived around Hot Springs all his life and was the Homestead's pro for decades, started his career here.
It's the course the resort uses for national events, and the list is long. Glenna Collett won the U.S. Women's Amateur here in 1928, the Curtis Cup came in 1966, Catherine Lacoste won the 1967 U.S. Women's Open, and Eric Meeks won the 1988 U.S. Amateur. Later came the 1994 U.S. Women's Amateur, the 2000 U.S. Mid-Amateur, the 2004 NCAA men's championship, won individually by Ryan Moore, and the U.S. Senior Women's Amateur in 2023 and 2025.
The resort, owned by Omni since 2013, also has the Old Course. The Cascades has its own clubhouse, driving range and short-game area.
