About Elkhorn Ridge Golf Club
Elkhorn Ridge opened in 2009 with nine holes and later grew to 18. It's just off I-90 at Exit 17 and part of the Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort. The two nines play like different courses: the front sits on the side of a mountain looking over the historic Centennial Valley, and the back winds down through Polo Creek Canyon with rock walls behind three of the holes.
Expect hills. Visit Spearfish counts more than 285 feet of elevation change, and every hole has five tee boxes, so move up if the climbs are getting to you. In 2024 the South Dakota Golf Association held the SoDak Cup here, which ended in a 12-12 tie.
The practice area has the only double-ended driving range around, two practice greens and greenside and fairway bunkers, and Miller Creek Pub is on site.
It's one of 2 courses in Spearfish on Yoink, and the closest alternative is Spearfish Canyon Golf Club, about 7 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
