About Lincoln Park Golf Course
Lincoln Park is where public golf in Oklahoma got its start. It opened in 1922, and the Oklahoma Historical Society credits Arthur Jackson, nephew of the Scottish pro Leslie Brownlee, whose building work and model caddie program there earned him the title of father of public golf in Oklahoma.
Today it's 36 holes run by Oklahoma City Golf. The West is the featured course: par 71, nearly 6,600 yards from the black tees, with big greens and water in play, and it opens with a par-5 dogleg left. The East is a par 70 about 400 yards shorter, so it's the better pick if you don't hit it far.
The clubhouse restaurant, Fergie's Place, is named for Urban Clarence "Fergie" Ferguson Jr., who started as a teenage caddie in 1928 and stayed 61 years, ending up as head pro. It serves daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
